After the Snow

We had snow storm up until mid April this year. Then the precipitation pretty much stopped. Sure, we've had it rain twice, for less than an hour, since the last snow, but we never gotten sustained, multi-day storms like we typically get in April and early May. It's been so dry we've had brush fire warnings--which I've never recalled being issued here, ever.

I hope we're not looking at a drought as we head into planting season.

In Ohio, we endured one of the coldest/wettest Aprils on record since the mid 1800s, we have had about a week of decent dry, warm weather.

We got a sprinkle last night and a sprinkle this morning. We may get a sprinkle tonight. We need some sustained rain, not these passing showers.

Burning ban for the entire state of Michigan. Rain is on the way, hopefully. Possible thunderstorms this afternoon. We need it bad.

We had a short time with a burn ban, then the storms rolled in. I have an aunt in Rockford and her car was totaled by hail. Here in WI we have had good old rolling thunderstorms.

After the cold/wet/ugly April we had, we went straight into Summer, and had the 5th warmest/dryest 1st week of May with temps currently hovering in the mid 80s.

Al Gore would be so happy !

Rain tonight has been cancelled. Just sprinkles long enough to make the pavement wet (and a week apart) since it quit snowing.
