You can make a poor man rich and he'll end up poor again. You can make a rich man poor and he'll figure out how to get it all back.

There are always exceptions but for MOST people, it's in their nature. There's a reason we achieve the level of success we do.

From the opening article:
Quote:
When asked by organizers what he would do with the money, he had simply answered: “Just read the news, you’ll see“.

He was freed on bail a few hours after his arrest, and told reporters to “stay alert“, claiming he had “a few other pranks to pull over the next few weeks“.
Maybe he should spend some of that money on some therapy.

And that is why many lottery winners end up broke.

I would hire someone to quit for me and 'POOF', be gone. People and causes I care about would be the recipients of generous monetary gifts but I would not waste time on retribution. The ROI is just not there.

I'd buy the cars I've always wanted, and for every 10 I buy I might get something new. I'd have a huge climate controlled warehouse, probably 50 cars or so and my new job would be driving them.

according to the Internet, this is a fake news story. The mugshot is from a guy arrested for DWI in 2014, not the story as reported. Still, it was pretty funny while it lasted.

I just don't care enough about anyone that's pissed me off to go after then after I win a ton of money.

Not going to judge what another man did without knowing more about it.

But I do appreciate the sentiment. And what he did is reversible without hurting anyone - so essentially a harmless prank.

Good for him!

If I ever hit the jackpot...there would be a whole lot of happy doggies and kitty cats out there!

I'd build a state of the art animal rescue facility and start a foundation that would help facilitate better treatment of our 4 legged friends worldwide.

That's my pipe dream.....

Yep. Sand weighs over a ton per yard, and manure, even liquid manure has got to weigh less. That means over 10000 yards of crap were dumped in 15 minutes. Not likely.

Chaos based math, specifically the theory of strange attractors using past winning numbers and predicting the next winning numbers produces a set of numbers that includes the winning number (no powerball). The larger the set the more likely the winning numbers are in the set. The set for a 90% chance of having the winning number is 200,000. You can increase the percentage of the set including the winning number by watching the trends of the winning numbers to determine when the next drawing's winning number will be in the set.

There are a couple of problems with buying 200,000 lottery tickets.

At $2 per entry would be $400,000 in lottery tickets. If you keep all the stubs you can use them to pay less taxes by deducting the tickets from winnings. If you take the lumps sum payment on $2,000,000 is reduced to around $1,200,000. Subtract taxes and the initial $400,000 you are looking at $320,000.

The other problem with 200,000 tickets is actually filling out and puchasing the 200,000 tickets each with specific different numbers. The maximum days between drawings is 4 days. Spending 10hrs a day that is 40hrs to fill out 200,000 tickets. That's 83.3 tickets per minute. Or the drawing could have only 3 days or 111.1 tickets per minute. I am positive I could not fill out 83 tickets per minute let alone 111.

Isn't math fun?
