Consider a teenage boy (we all know that there is no greater combination of power and stupidity in the universe) and what are the messages he sees day after day after day?

-The people who are rewarded the most in our society lie, cheat and **** like rabbits and have zero respect for family (actors, politicians).

-The people who are supposed to comfort and love them and be a safe haven (mothers) are now marching to be able to murder their infants at will.

-The people who are supposed to guide them into being a man (fathers) are dressing up like women and CONGRATULATED FOR DOING SO!

-The big action movies (let's say Deadpool for example) have violence that is so graphic as to desensitize kids to it. Blood used to be a thing that made you stop and think.

-Drugs like pot and meth are glorified not just by the loser glam rock bands but now by all manner of people in society.

-The Bible has been shunned. No more moral compass. Just do what feels good. Guess what...that attitude allows for 'it would feel good if I could kill all those jerks at school who make fun of me'.

I could go on forever. But alas this post will just draw the 'we've grown past fairy tales and common sense says you don't do things harmful to yourself or others' blather as per usual. Well it seems to me the proof is in the pudding people.

We take away the glue that made our experiment work and then ask ourselves what happened when everything falls apart?

Hubris is what happened.

I'm puzzled by this post. Apparently you have created the narrative you need to debate my points rather than addressing my points.

What are your points? Other than "guns are the problem" I haven't gleaned much else.

OK, lets start over with no editorializing or injecting serotonin & dopamine pushed cut & paste narrative.

How many school shootings are there annually in:
United States
Canada
Mexico
Germany
England?

List the successful revolutions these countries have had in the last 300 years.

Was that a "point"? I don't see a statement in there, just a request for me to do research to support your rhetorical question. Sorry but I have better things to do than research your argument. If you want to offer something up, support it.

When I was taking Physical Chemistry, I'd read the chapter and then go on to the homework which was fairly difficult. So you look at the answers provided and it's "easy," once you know the answer. But you don't learn how to solve the problem.

You are fairly closed minded on this subject Matt, essentially just rimming off NRA talking points, so the only way you'll understand my thesis is to answer the questions.

You're a funny guy Shaun. If you want to change my mind, then present a case. I'm not doing your research for you, particularly considering that you are asking a rhetorical question. Wow, I did my research and the USA has the most school shootings, I'm shocked thanks Shaun! Don't talk down to me like you are on a higher level and this is a teacher/student relationship, I'm not impressed by the fact that you at one point took a Chemistry class. Right now it just makes me think that you don't have anything worthwhile to contribute. Thus far your "thesis" posts have looked a lot like emotional rants along with some thinly veiled personal insults.

Also, since we are in full assume = ass*u*me mode, I am in no way affiliated with the NRA and don't go looking to any lobbyist organization for my facts or beliefs.

Don't be lazy.

It seems there's two issues at hand.

One is the availability of guns, which you guys really like discussing each time one of these happens.

The second one is this incel perspective this boy had. Parents need to do a better job at not creating little monsters.

Just saw where there was a shooting at a school in Noblesville IN. Not one school should reopen in the fall without having added security measures. Secure the damn schools. Stop focusing on the weapon and start focusing on keeping the weapons out of the school. This isn't rocket science.

I agree with this, it will be simple, and effective. At least it would be doing something .
One way in, with metal detectors .done .
