Saw him a dozen or so times, mostly at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano. Maybe 400 people tops. Opt for the mediocre chicken/beef dinner and sit at the foot of the stage... Good times.
And whoever said it, it was 3/4 music and 1/4 comedy. Priceless treasure he is!

I like the song about the "Happy Enchilada."
I had the pleasure of seeing him play at the Mostly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park a dozen years or so ago.

I loved his early stuff. Haven't found a whole lot to love lately though.

Anyone miss their old man? This one, from his old buddy Steve Goodman (Chicago Cubs' theme song) gets me choked up - every single time
"...and after they dropped the bomb He came home and married mom And not too long after that He became my old man And oh, the fights that we had When my brother and me got him mad He'd get all boiled up and he'd start to shout We knew what was comin' so we tuned him out And now the old man is gone And I'd give all I own To hear what he said when I wasn't listenin' To my old man"
