Pegboard for your garage/shop. Dirt cheap.

Very sturdy. Not that wet paper towel crap from Home Depot. But not steel, either.

Toys R Us retail fixtures. Check your local store closing to see if they're selling fixtures yet.
Picked up a loose 4x5 sheet for $10 today, and reserved a couple fixtures that contained large sheets.

Some stores may still have loose sheets.

All the pegboard you could ever need.

Good find! I did one wall of my garage with 1/4 pegboard, love it.

I did one in Home Despot pegboard several weeks ago. It was crap and tore apart immediately with very little weight on pegs.

I'm pretty impressed by the amount of weight the ToysRUs fixture pegboard is currently holding. I actually have to try to tear out a hole with a long peg.

I know.

And Allstate just announced that they're closing virtually all claims/processing offices in the US, and centralizing to three offices located in SC, Texas, and Arizona. All those laid off will be able to vie for just 19 positions... if they're willing to relocate.
Zero severance.

Told my GF this would happen. She's been there seven years, handled all total loss salvage for five states. Lotta people in her office.

But hey, they saved $500 billion by switching to....

^^ Maybe if they reduced the millions they spend on advertising (like all the other insuance companies) they wouldn’t have to sack so many people.

For those of you having issues with the peg board tearing out what diameter hooks are you using ? Are you using 1/8 hooks in 1/4 peg board ? I installed HD 1/4 peg board in my last garage and used 1/4 peg hooks some 12 " long and didn't have any issues . Just curious as I may be adding peg board to my new garage .

I used the proper hooks.

This stuff, specifically, is crap. Breaks and tears out very easily.
The brown stuff they have is the same.

I'm estimating the TrU pegboard can hold easily 10x the weight on a double-hole hook. Using a 1' long 3/16th diameter hook, it takes quite a bit of downward force on the end to get the holes to think about tearing out... the hooks are bending.

Just did a quick weight test. Full gallon of water at the end of a 1 foot hook, no problem.
The HD stuff tears out long before that.

If anyone in my area wants a few 4x4' sheets free I have about 25-30 of them.

Pick up only and you have to help get them down from my loft. They were with a bunch of store fixture shelving I got for free.

Putting up pegboard...........

A couple of years ago, my wife wanted some pegboard put up in the pantry. As fate would have it, I did not get around to it soon enough to suit her so one day when I got home from work, she proudly showed me that she had put it up! The only problem was that the put the pegboard flat on the wall! I saw what she had done, picked up a pegboard hook and asked her to show me how it worked. After struggling for about 30 seconds to put the hook into the pegboard, she turned to me, handed me the hook and asked me very nicely if I would fix it! All the while I was dying inside to keep from laughing! Of course, I had to apologize later for being smarter than her!

Just bought 13 more sheets. $130. Front side is white.

Found these at BabiesRUs, which is also closing.
