Cash Back Credit Cards, what do you carry (if any?
Wife loves her coupons/cash back/bargains.
She has agreed to close her Chase Amazon card but wants me to look if there is a great deal out there. Any suggestions? And yes I resisted the "what is in your wallet" line ![]()

I have a 1.5 point per dollar card through my bank. They have an on-line catalog that you can buy goods or travel through. There is an annual fee, but the points never expire and I'm saving for a trip.
I run about $30k a month of business expenses through them. I'm going to Tahiti for free in a couple years.

I have a card through my credit union that gives me 1.5%, with specials every now and then where it pays 3%. I pay off my balance each month, so I make $100 or so each month; I'm sure I'll find a horse's head in my bed any day now.

We have a B of A checking and looking at their offer, matter of fact they emailed my wife an offer and that is what started this whole mess.
Or a pallet of toilet paper!

United Visa card, we pay off every month, and get two round trips to wherever every year or three.

Used to have a VISA through 1st national Omaha because of the NRA tie-in. They decided that they didn't like NRA members so I cut up the cards, closed the account.
Now have a VISA through out small local bank..Umpqua bank. They have some sort of cash rewards, but don't have a clue what it is...Cindy tracks all that stuff..I just pay the bill in full when it arrives.

I have 3. A Chase that gets 3% at restrants and gas stations. Another Chase that gets 1% but each quarter I can activate it to get 5% at the businesses of the that quarter. Also have a Capital One that gets 1.5% on everything. I pay no fees or intrest and get back a few hundred $$$ every year on stuff I buy anyway.

We've had Discover forever, my wife had one when we got married. I got a Delta Platinum Amex card last year because I was travelling a LOT for work and could use my personal card, now that I have a corporate Amex I'm going to cancel this one. If you're a frequent traveler and can use your own card, I highly recommend getting one because the mileage rewards and airline status are very nice.

Discover IT. 4 quarterly categories, each is 5% cash back up to $75. I *think* that it still doubles the first year's cash back for new customers. So, that's a possible $600 cash back if you plan things right.
Chase Freedom, also 5% back in quarterly categories, $75 max each quarter. So, up to $300 back a year. If you have a Chase Sapphire card as well, you can turn the cash back points into Chase points which makes them about 50% more valuable, so $450 a year. Both are zero annual fee cards. If you can swing $12,000 a year in specific categories (Amazon, restaurants, groceries, etc) you can get back over $1000 this year.

USAA credit card. Real cash back. Great company and a solid app to keep the card fraud stopped.
I have it set up to pay statement balance on the due date. Zero interest for me. The actual interest rate is low I think. It does not matter.

So straight cash back, no travel points? I have Amazon, but according to the folks at Nerd Wallet, who seem to know what they are talking about, here are your options: https://www.nerdwallet.com/best/credit-cards/cash-back

I have an AMEX card used for emergencies only - I haven't used it in years.
I have a Visa card with a credit limit of $6K and use it sparingly. I pay cash for everything.
