So now we're in a reboot trend....

Worked for Ford and Chevrolet.

Based on the trailer this is going to be worse than the remake of Hawaii 5-0. Not going to watch. Jumping out of a car as it goes over a cliff and grabbing onto a helicopter is just silly. I would rather have seen him land in the rotors and end the series at that point.

Can Roseanne fit in the passenger seat ? :D I hear she's looking for work.................

If she did, the bottom of the car might drag.
I agree with the others, you can't duplicate what the original series had. CGI & trashing cool cars won't cut it.

Two things I loved about the original Magnum. When he punched someone his fist would hurt, and when he took a punch he acted like it hurt later.

And he looked like he did and he had worse luck with ladies than I did. I know that was just the character, but it was funny every-time.

It was not the crazy over the top adventures like most modern shows. The current crop of so many shows are just a 1/2 step below Scooby Doo and less believable than Scooby.

Thanks Baz...for the three.

You're very welcome, Don. Thought they were interesting myself.

It was a very special show for many of us.

Just a small slice of the good old days.....:p

No new ideas? Not sure why some things cant just be left alone. I loved this show when I was a kid.

Everything is over the top these days. I agree, it was nice seeing characters back then with some vulnerability. Like Magnum, Jim Rockford (same creators) seemed to get the crap beat out of him a lot. There was some realism to it.

But that wouldn’t fly today. Now it’s got to be some hot chick that weighs about 120 lbs, takes on three ex-KGB assassins and knocks them out cold - without a scratch on her. Who buys this stuff..?

Um, how hot of a chick are we talkin' about?

I watched the original occasionally. A good show but back then I went out a lot and didn't have time for TV.

Tom Selleck is great in Blue Bloods. I always tune in when I can.

(Miami Vice was huge in its day. I'm sure that show was the reason so many of my friends tried cocaine.)

Isn't Magnum supposed to be clean shaven in his dress whites? My nephew got married last October and his roommate at USNA had to shave his beard and moustache for the wedding. He opted out after graduation as he had a startup co that made him $$$$$$. Grew the beard and 'stache and wanted to be in uniform for the wedding.

Of course I think he really shaved it off because a VADM was going to be there, and he and his entire family was really close to my nephew and his family. His son went to high school with my nephew, then to prep school and then the Academy.

Looks like a big nope for me. I couldn't finish the trailer.

Magnum, Rockford, Simon and Simon. All good shows. Nothing like them now days. Kids just want explosions and no thinking or caring required.

Those are all good!

Remember the helicopter name in Simon and Simon?

:). Crap, I do. No googling!

vash 06-04-2018 05:41 PM

And I’m known for watching stupid crap for a pretty woman.

I almost made it thru Honey with Jessica Alba.....almost. (What an abomination. If I ever meet her I am asking her for my $8.25 back)

vash 06-04-2018 05:41 PM

And nobody can tell me FALL-GUY was good TV.
