Magnum PI reboot!

I grew up watching that show.

Higgens is now a British hot chick. Magnum is Hispanic. Glad they kept Ferrari and didn’t use a Dodge Challenger:)

Unfortunately....the actor playing Magnum has shoes that are way too big to fill.

The original show had many aspects to it that made it what is was but the most important was Magnum's personality.

Without that it's just another reboot.

Just my 2 cents......

The only things original are the ring, the car and the rolex. I will watch but I hate to see the cars get destroyed.

It was very rare that Tom Selleck used his .45, trailer had too much shooting.

I am sure the folks that put this out are hoping that some of us that used to watch the original will watch it, but I suspect we are not their target audience. I'm sure their target audience is a much younger crowd.

The trailer had too much action (and a bunch of it was over the top). A big part of the original show was the personal interaction between the various characters, and I'm not sure that I see that in this. Also, Magnum was a lot like a laid back Indiana Jones character, a fallible hero. He wasn't 007 or Jason Bourne, his stunts didn't always go as planned and there were lots of screw-ups. But in the end, he pulled it off, and there was plenty of comedy (often directly from Magnum) throughout the show. This does not look like that.

Maybe the younger crowd will like it. I may watch an episode or two out of curiosity.

So now we're in a reboot trend....

Once again confirmed - Hollywood does not have the balls to take a chance on an original idea. I loved the show back in the ‘80s, at least the first few seasons. The 308 in the trailer looked like it was destroyed digitally, I’m sure the producers are well aware of the current value of the cars.

I’ll check it out but I have a feeling it will be a lot of silliness and implausible action. Nice to see the 500 D model flying around, once of the things in the original series to push me toward getting my helicopter rating rather than fixed wing.

Never watched a complete episode of the original...couldn't get enrolled.
Women have told me that they loved his facial expressions.
A stud willing to show his feminine side, I guess.
Hollywood trying to milk a good thing, again?
.
"Magnum is Hispanic."
Is his attache black? LOL.

Lived on Oahu from 2010 to 12. Local TV station played reruns of the original every day around 5 pm. It made my time there wonderful!

The Anderson Estate where Robin's Nest was located was for sale a few years ago for around $12.5 million. Purchased for just over $8m. It has now been torn down for a development. Not cool.

Pahonu (aka Robin's Nest) torn down!
4/14/2018 - Sad news for Magnum P.I. fans this week. The building structures of Pahonu, the property in Waimanalo that was used as the exterior filming location for Robin's Nest (and used in nearly every episode), have been torn down to make way for a new, unknown development project. The demolition occured without any kind of historic preservation review, which wasn't required because of a 2015 state law change that excluded privately-owned, single-family detached dwelling units from historic preservation review unless they are "listed on the state or national registers; nominated for the register; or located in a historic district." The estate was purchased by Marty Nesbitt (close friend of Barack Obama) in 2015 for $8.7 million. The City & County of Honolulu Department of Planning and Permitting (DPP) issued the demolition permit last week. The 8,900 square feet Spanish Colonial Revival-style main house was built in 1933 and was designed by architect Louis Davis, who was a prominent architect of the 1920's and 30's. The future plans for the property are currently unknown. Here's an aerial view of the destruction. :(

Magnum Mania! For All Things Magnum P.I.

You can even get repros of his Aloha shirts

Just watched the trailer. Way too Hawaii 5-O, but makes sense as the producers are the same.

Thomas Magnum was much cooler back in the day.

TC was not enlisted. To be a pilot one was at least a Warrant Officer.

Meh
