Need a Recommendation for cross contry car shipping. I won online auction

and got this.

The car is in Pasadena, and I'm in New Jersey. Any personal experiences someone could share?

Congrats! Drive it home! Those adventure opportunities don't come up that often...

(Sorry - No recommendations for a shipper. One thought - You might ask Carmax if they would do that for you. They ship vehicles all over the US all the time.)

Some experience here. 1) Whoever you hire make sure it's an enclosed trailer, one-way and that the driver / truck is connected constantly. 2) Intercity as well as other big carriers are at a premium cost, but provide premium service. Look at it as an investment, safety and security.

I constantly see people where they spend big bucks on something online, then select the lowest possible bidder to transport it. I would avoid freight brokers. Most if the top name carriers deal directly with the customer, no brokers involved.

Very nice looking car!
I'm assuming it's a manual? How many miles?

A room mate I had in college had one exactly like that. He left it outside, parked with the top down until it fell into a state of deterioration. I could never understand that.

This!

Hire a real shipping company like Intercity or Reliable Carriers, Inc. Avoid the cheap brokers like you would for a $10 hooker.

Another question pertains to exchange of funds and title. Escrow service?

My daughter and son-in-law recently shipped her 2020 Suburban cross country. I've asked if she's happy with how it went. If positive I'll post the company. Not enclosed trailer but a good one. I think it was ten days to get there CA to VA.

I got recommendations on PPOT and used White Lightning - they are a broker, not a transport carrier, but I was very happy. Open and enclosed are both available.

My daughter says they are happy with the service they got from this guy:

He works out of PA. They were put on the bottom level and never removed until delivery.

She said it only took 4 days, I thought it had been longer. Not sure what they paid.

I used a broker (can't remember the name) for hauling my 84 Carrera from CO Springs to MI
When the trucker showed up...it was a neighbor of mine!

They choose and bid on stops to get them back home.
He did an excellent job.

Ive done it both ways, the expensive well known ones like Intercity, all the way down to brokers.

The Intercities are so expensive the past few years, that I’ve gone with others. Saved thousands and never had an issue.

In Midwest, Angick, Inc. (313) 509-8987. They are not a broker.

Good, responsive broker I have used twice, they keep a close eye on the shippers they use and are very responsive, A to Z Shipping, Samantha 818-991-9904

I'ii drive it out to you.
I just need expenses and a return flight.

I estimate it will take 3 weeks.

Slightly off topic. I had a 65 MGB years ago. I used to root around junk yards to grab NLA parts and other treasures. A guy at a British wrecking yard told me that the head from a Fairlady would bolt right on to an MG and vice-versa. Meaning, Nissan reverse engineered the engine from an MG.

I haven't confirmed this but it seems plausible.
