A friend has a 1983 Porsche that is an Original 911SC car that is a bit of a Frankenstein. They love the car and so I looked into it some and bought them their originality report/Advanced vin decoding thing from Vinanalytics and Carfax. The car is a totally weird car but after looking into the reports the car is code X7 for Ice Silver (Green) and it gives an Interior trim code XF which I don't know what it is. Can anyone give me the code/verify the ice green code I can't find anything.

I'm sure it's no Frankenstein ! your just simply getting info for a car from two places that on a good day can't get things right. carafe is such a joke it's not funny. I clipped the back half on one Porsche convertible that never came up on car faults no I mean carfax. another car we did a door and rear QTR panel keyed scratch repair on and car fax had it as a almost totaled repair. and we didn't even have to replace any parts.
the color I'm guessing your referring to is SilberGruen Diamant Met. with a code of 266 its a code used from 1976 to date. the same color has a code of 250 used for the years of 1974 and 75 . Americans call the color ice green or ice silver green. it's a standard color option. the code X7 is for a ruby/red color chances that's it's a miss marked color is slim to non. if it was a special ordered color it would be tagged as 99 999 or 9999. but being the years a regular standard production run color it wouldn't be. what's the code on the cars tag? is the car a coupe, targa or cab? |

The car has no tag because of the Frankenstein thing; I meant this. The current owner has had the car for about 12 years. His father got the car in 2001. Before that there was no history until I ran it on carfax. The car has been salvage title and unknown mileage for 24 years unknown to him until I brought it up. The reason I called it the Frankenstein is because the car is a white 1983 911SC car with purple/burgundy interior, a 1984 Carrera 3.2 engine, and Turbo Panels with SC badges. Do the color code X7 and XF line up? The data lines up because the Carfax says after it was Salvage and UK mileage the “Vehicle Color Notes as White”. I dont know what the XF code means because there are multiple similar colors. Because the car has been pulled apart cause of whatever happened there are no tags, stickers, etc but the vin plates are still on the car (im thinking all of a sudden it was vin swapped but not likely)

being salvage who knows at this point nor does it really matter.
the only thing that could tell you what the car was is the COA from porsche. |
