Plastic media blasting for surface rust ?
Do you recommend plastic media blasting for surface rust ?
Car was stripped with chemical strippers and left without primer, after some years all the body has surface rust. |

it would or does depend on how bad the rust is as to what media you should use .
it also depends on just what car your thinking of blasting . big old cars with a heaver gage metal you can be a little more aggressive with the media you pick . but the plastic media will be just fine for most surface rust . |

Thanks for your answer. I will try to use plastic media and see what the results are. |

There are some exellent brush on chemicals that stop rust and kill the cancer. Google it. Worth a look and they don't eat metal like abrasive products.

products like brush on encapsulator's do not kill rust it does just as it states encapsulates it .
that type of product has it's uses for things like down inside the rails of a chassis were blasting will not get to . blasting will not change the gage of the steel at all so eating up your panels by blasting is nothing you would ever have to worry about . |
