window regulator problem

I am putting my car back together after a total strip. I pulled off the chrome frames on the doors for the bodywork and paint job. Before I reinstalled the chrome frame I replaced all the felt and channels around the window. Now, when I roll up the window it tries to move backwards (towards the rear of the car). Doesn't want to go up or down but will do so if I push/pull it with my hand.

What did I do? What did I screw up? How do I fix it?

Thanks all,

Greg

Need more info but are you sure it's bolted in at all areas? I just did both doors on a 63, do you have a schematic ? that would help.
