CIS Tuning - Gunson Gastester or LM-2 AFR Meter?
Hi guys, in an effort to fix an enrichment issue on my 83 911, I've acquired both a Gunson Gastester and an LM-2 AFR meter.
In researching both, it appears they can have their potential issues. Does anyone prefer one to the other? Can the Gunson be used at the tailpipe, or do I need to try to get a pre-cat reading? If pre-cat, it seems like the LM-2 is the way to go since it uses an 02 sensor probe. Thanks for your help! |

The Gunson is ok for steady state readings, but response is not it’s strong suit. Careful. Secure the tailpipe sensor tube securely less it be spit out during road testing.
A wide band sensor system is better. |

Always interested to hear what wide band systems people are using. Have been considering installing one.

AEM makes pretty decent wide band systems, but without any provisions for data acquisition. For that, you must go to different products at more $$.

a friend had I think it was gunson. he said you could only get accurate readings in the first minute or so. something about the ports heating up(?) then you had to drive it to take another reading.

The LM2 was about the same price as the Gunson, so it looks like the Gunson will be going in the classifieds. Thanks for the advice, guys.
