Removing door lock mechanism on 964

Hi,

I want to clean paint off my 964 door lock mechanism by the round hole where the lock passes through the door jamb, but I need to remove it to do so.
Is there a way to get it out of the car without removing the window frames. It seems to be blocked in by the frame.
