no ignition lights on dash
Hi everyone i'm new to this forum and live in the UK, i have a problem with my 1982 911 SC the car is only used occasionally, its was running fine, i came to take it for its mot turned on the ignition and no ignition warning lights the fuel gauge did not register all the things when you turn the ignition on didn't work. The battery is fully charged its on a device that keeps it topped up, the battery earth and terminals are tight and clean, the lights, wipers, horn, windows, all work, the engine will turn over but not fire the indicators do not work it does have a immobiliser fitted but this seems ok i have taken out the ignition switch and checked the wiring i do have 12 volts on pin 15 when the switch is turned on i can use a meter and pretty reasonable with electrics regards continuity and dirty contacts but car wiring takes a bit of understanding can anyone help thanks.

Hi thanks for the quick reply, not interested in footie, i think your pic is for a later ignition switch, mine is like a block that fits to the switch rather than the spade connectors on yours but thanks.

Check fuse 12 (counting back from headlight) with red/black wire for power. (All gauge power)
Maybe just need to spin the fuse to clean up corrosion. Fuse 11 for CDI power as well.

Also, see that the smaller red wires at the + battery clamp are tight. Seen tons of them loose.

No. Don’t know why this keeps being posted? CDI boxes are not fused!

Johhny, you know from building fuse panels that fuse 11 and 12 are bridged. People troubleshooting need to know if switched power is coming back from the ignition switch and the bridge bar is still good. In retrospect I should have said ensure there is 12 vdc to the top of fuse 11.
