re - replacement alternator -- likely to be buying one that was remanufactured/refurbished from a core. Might want to see if there's a shop in your area that rebuilds them locally and have your's rebuilt?

Have yours rebuilt. Check around your neighborhood usually an independent alternator shop will take better care and you know it will fit.

If alternator spin well probably just brushes our host sells them really easy to replace with a little patience

UPDATE: It would appear everybody’s suspicion was correct. I replaced the suspect alternator with our host’s Valeo brand. With the help of Wayne’s 101 Projects I successfully replaced the alternator.

12.32 volts prior to start up
13.68 volts right after start up
13.60 volts one hour after start up.

GEN light remained off the entire time.

Looks like the alternator/voltage regulator/diodes were the problem.
