RSA tail differences for early 911 vs. 964

All the posts talk about the differences in the hinges but actually there is a difference in the way the insert fits into the deck lid and that is why you must specify what car it is going on. What is the difference? Does anyone have a photo?

it's unclear what you are trying to say here

the steel lid on the 964 has different hinges, but is otherwise the same as all other 74-89 911. But that has nothing to do w/ the various spoilers that bolt to it.

the 964 RSA base that bolts to the lid+the grill and p/u rim are the same as was used on '84-89 911, they all have the same part #s

the 964 t spoiler is different from an RSA

the other 'whale tail' spoilers used from '74 thru '83 are all mostly 1 piece designs where the lid an spoiler base are integral, 930s 'tea trays' are different and there wa salos a bolt on p/u version that sort of looked like the 1 piece designs

A few years back I was at the better bodies shop and they showed me two RSA type but different tails, same style and outline, only difference was how they attached to the deck lid. If you notice the ma Shaw site requires that you identify which model you are trying to install on for the same reason.

I have a MA shaw RSA tail. It looks like an oe but is completely different in construction and the grill is a simple screen bolted on from below and bears no resemblance to the oe's

Yes they ask what car you have but it wouldn't make a difference in what you get if you purchase one
