Thanks all. It;s 11:30 and I'm totally wiped after 12 hours of work on it, but the last 5 months was worth it.

We caught it's first moments on tape of course... i will post soon.

SO MANY THANKS for hands on help to Souk, Ray, Kevin, Keith, Dennis, Ahmed, Dan, Brian, Dave, Paul, ESTHER, and others for all the help. I'm totally overwhelmed by the support I've gotten from the local Pelican/Porsche folks and this board. Truly amazing.

More thanks to all those here that helped with info and moral support. Far too many to list. I couldn't have done it without all of you.

(And YES, it was an SCWDP Muhaha! It is an SC motor in it's heart after all!)

I am absolutely on top of the world. So many things went right, learned so much, just totally elated to see a motor that I put together from all those bits and baggies purring away!

We would have finished sooner had I been able to tackle the totally confusing spark plug routing issue. Choosing the best path and length for those twelve wires (twin plug) to the Electromotive coils on the shock tower was a pain in the arse.

We checked and double checked and checked again. Had to finally suck it up and crank the motor over.

Dead-cranked it a number of times and then pulled an oil line to confirm oil pressure. We got pressure. Cool.

Took a handful of cranks later to get the motor to burble to life. The motor took it upon itself to instantly dial up the desired 2000 rpm break-in speed. A little fine tuning after getting warm was all that was needed to keep it at 2000 for twenty minutes. Pretty weird.

So, during that 20 min. we kept a close eye and ear on everything. Just like Chris said, not a drop of oil anywhere. Kickass.

Here's a the best part. After 20 min., we roll it back into the garage and drain the oil. Turns out the sump plate drain plug was only finger tight. AND IT STILL DIDN'T LEAK A SINGLE DROP. How cool is that?

That motor is gonna rock.

Chris,

Great news!

But you can't leave us hanging like this! Yours is one of my favorite 911's on this board! Give us a few pics or something to get us by until the video is done.

Did you drive it? Were you able to feel the power/torque? Did you detail the engine/compartment?

All of your stuff is so nice, I have been anticipating this finished project for awhile!

Congrats on what sounds like a very successful rebuild on a very fun car!

A born again Porsche, fresh and new...

No Oil... That's great. One good thing about a waterless engine, it's just one thing less to wonder about.

Are you SURE that's a Porsche? I thought ALL Porsche's leaked oil!
