+1 on solvents esp acetone+ATF, heat. If you can access the other end (180° out) of the screw, you have many options including simple rocking twisting with visegrips. If u can't get drill to fit (parcel shelf?), try with 90° angle attachment. Last, worse/best: use a Dremel cut off wheel (incl 90 adapter as needed) to cut a straight screwdriver slot. Deepen with pointed carbide tip to get better purchase, then rock (twist) back and forth with stubby screwdriver. If you can't get a punch centered, at least a carefully cut slot gives you bit control on one in-plane axis.

Does not mean you can't start the easy outs, slots, etc. Just for putting some pressure on the mated surfaces that are corroded but I would wait a bit for the big turn.
