To those with an '86 Carrera

I'm hoping someone with an '86 can help me out.

My fusebox cover didn't come with my barn-find. There are other fusebox cover diagrams on Pelican, but not for an 86 Carrera. If I could get a clear pic of one, I'll recreate the file and share it for anyone else who needs it.

Anyone able to take a well-lit pic of their fusebox cover?

If nobody else does it quicker, I can snap a picture and post it late tomorrow.

Hi Ivan - I'm not 100% sure... Is that from your '85, or an '86?

Red Coupe - I'd take you up on your offer, in order to ensure I've got the right diagram

Fune panel.

We have the 86.

Also, I made a few mods to reduce the current burden on fuse #2,
and to run the fog lights independent of the headlight switch.

I posted the mods a while back.

pm me if interested.

Best,

Gerry

jlex - Yes, I went thru that list last week. Unfortunately nothing specific to the 86 Carrera... the 86 930 is on there, but I suspect there are some differences between the two. Thus the reason for wanting to confirm from a pic.

proporsche - Ah, yes. I assume there may be some differences between an 86 and 87. Just want to make sure before I go to the work of building a file.

Gerry - PM incoming

If you go to that link above, you'll see a post from Fred Cook stating that there was actually a mid-year change in 1986. Early 1986 there were four fuse positions jumped together, later cars had five.

The most electrically savvy thing I've ever done was to replace the old fuse box with a modern one. It took lots of labels and lots of patience (for me), but I was pretty proud of it. In fact, I think it was a model made by Fred Cook that I installed.
