And now just some random fabrication pics. I'll delete this and post some more build pics soon.

Cheers for now.

I think it's great Pierre, please post more pics! Always love S.A builds, you guys have an awesome interpretation of classic details. Plus an ability to do things in-house. Like Kiwis :-)

That's a cool way of masking off the wheels. I just did it by hand. :(

jlex 08-22-2018 07:14 AM

Please stop. This much eye candy is going to give me diabetes...

You could sell those Fuchs templates, I know I would pay.

Yeah, but we will always hold a rugby grudge. :D

The templates for the wheels are not as easy as it looks, you still have to mask. Templates just make masking easier.

It's a digital whiteboard jobby we use for stripe kits & whatnot. We use transfer tape to trace the shape, place it on the white board, scan it with a digital pen and manipulate the shape with coral draw. Not rocket science.

I'm happy to email pdf or j-pegs and you find someone with a vinyl cutter to do the templates, but you still gonna have to do this...

Thanks again for all the compliments.

Right, some inside info...

This was an already lightened track car we started off with, but for some reason the previous owner(s) never removed the bitumen from the floor pan. This stuff is really heavy. We removed 4.5kg from the floor pan alone. I was surprised...

For the carpets we went with lightweight grey RSR style carpeting.

Pics of loose fit and being glued in...
