Finally got around to adding a subwoofer... under the seat!

I thought I'd put this out there since I have seen a few threads on stereos and guys asking what kind of setup others have. I have been wanting to add a little more bump to my system for quite a while now. I have a relatively cheap JVC head unit that puts out 20W RMS/channel and four Alpine type R 6.5" speakers rated at 100W RMS. I thought about an amp to properly power the Type R's but didn't think it would give me what I was looking for. It always sounded okay but I wanted a little more low end bump so I could use my Alpines for mid and treble.

I have been going back and forth on which under the seat compact powered subwoofer to get and finally settled in on the Cerwin Vega VPAS10... I was not disappointed. The VPAS10 is listed as a 10" compact powered sub rated at 200W RMS. The speaker measures 13.6 x 9.6 x 2.6 It's not going to blast you out with chest pounding bass but it adds a really nice low end thump (enough to shake the floor of the car). I played around with my stereo settings and Have the preset EQ settings on "natural" which puts more mid and treble to the Alpines and leaves the VPAS10 for the low end thump. All in all I'm pretty satisfied now with the sound system.
Below is a picture of the unit. I don't have it fully mounted yet as I was testing the settings before I go through with final mounting.

I saw a a lot of threads with guys installing the smaller Kenwood unit and some using the Kicker unit. I know for certain this unit puts out better bass than the kenwood unit which is why I thought I'd post this thread.

I've not heard the CW unit yet, but I had the Kenwood (KSC-SW11) in my 964 and have it in my '71 and it was fantastic, and is slightly smaller than this unit in all but height. (11x7.5x2.75). Good to have options always.
