Need conversion advice Has anyone done a 3.0 to 3.2 succesfully
I am looking to rebuild my 3 liter 78 sc and I have come across a set of 3.2 P's & C's real cheap so I might as well do the upgrade but I need to know if the wrist pins and the heads and crank from the 3.0 are compatible with the 3.2 or do I have to do anything else to it? If anyone has done one of these successfully please impart your wisdom and thoughts about this to me. all is appreciated.
thanks, Norm ![]()

You mean like as in 3.2 Carrera P&C???
They are the same bore as a 3.0, but designed for a different (longer stroke) crank - hence difference in capacity. Or are they REALLY cheap, and you already know what I just said?

Yeah, but it isn't really an upgrade - it won't make the engine any bigger (and you might have trouble with high compression).

And the wrist pins are the wrong size.
2 ways to make a 3.0 into a 3.2, larger bore, (98mm P&C's designed for a SC engine) or longer stroke (crankshaft from a 3.2 Carrera). Unfortunately neither is inexpensive. Tom |
