1987 carrera...during my long trip to Nova scotia, I was made aware that my brake lights are not working...upon my return to Toronto, I checked the fuse #7 and just in case replaced it...then bought 2 brake lights switches from a porsche dealer and in stalled them...BRAKE LIGHTS STILL DO NOT WORK!
Any suggestions ? |

Many if not most issues with lights are ground issues. Check all the grounds. Check them again. Try a temporary ground to just so see if that is the issue if you can't find the bad ground.
Also the bulbs in the tail lights are a weird metric size. Standard bulbs from the local auto parts store often don't really work. Check the connectors at the back of the socket. Look for corrosion. Try to get a bulb that is a tight fit.

Only brake lights failed? If so I'd start checking power wires and confirming all grounds are tight and clean.

Tested as working out of the box?
Have you meters them out to see if they have power and are working properly?
