Mystery Gauge? Outside thermometer

Hello, I bought some random 911 stuff and this Gauge was in Factory Porsche box, with a plastic Porsche bag in the box. My hunch is it was randomly dropped in the box at a shop and left in storage. Gauge face says P237 STORK STUTTGART and the reading is in Celsius. Is this at all correct for a 356-911 or even VW?

very cool, it makes sense that it is a tool with the “P” in the model number.

It's fascinating to learn about all the iterative steps technology took along the way to where we're at now. Nowadays: "install an IAT sensor"...yawn!

I thought this might be a cool piece to put in a gauge console in my 2.4, but the white face won't match my stock gauges and the fact it's for 2.0 & 2.2 doesn't jive with my stock-ish theme.

Guess it'll go on my garage shelf for now

Thanks again guys - Patrick M

Seems like an odd temperature range for an outside temperature gauge as 100C is boiling!
