69-76 front a-arms same as later ones ? / URO front suspension arm problems?

are the 69-76 front a-arms the same as the 77-88 cars other than sway bar mounts?
any preference between the two?

im looking into a through body type sway bar and would like to preserve the originals rather than cutting off the sway bar mounts and welding on a U-tab

has anyone tried URO front suspension arms? ive doing some searches here and apparently other URO parts are mixed bag at best?

They are turning it around, but what, after 7-10 years of hilarious ill-fitting and smelly (literally Chinese rubber stinks, bad, real bad) products? They are low priced for a reason. Excellent Norm, glad to hear it! Ten years ago we had one full-time engineer, now we have ten on staff (last I checked), plus a rather comprehensive testing lab.

We certainly don't claim to be perfect, but our engineering team ranked all of our parts by the number of returns and/or complaints a couple years ago, and has been reviewing and improving parts starting at the bottom. We have more than 5,000 part numbers so the process will take several more years, but as you can see their efforts are already making a difference.

If anyone ever has a problem with one of our parts, please don't hesitate to contact us (via PM or email to "sales at uro parts dot com") so we can report the issue to the engineers and get you taken care of.

It always amazes me what people will do to save a buck. Can you imagine if URO was a restaurant? Well for the last 10 years the food sucked and made people sick but they are trying to get better and their burgers are a dollar cheaper than the place that everyone likes so let’s give them another chance.

I don’t think this is entirely fair, but I understand the point.

Don’t forget that many new “original” factory Porsche parts are made in China now, and I’m pretty sure even though their profit margins are way up, they have yet to pass the savings to the consumer.

Bosch silver coils have been known junk for many years, to use another German based company that has outsourced with poor results.

I purchased a URO sump screen for my SC a few years ago, and some small VW parts, and they were good quality pieces at a much lower price than the factory parts. I do think URO quality is better overall these days, and some parts are really good.

There are many Porsche parts which are relatively simple that cost way too much - the little green distributor wire or the bearing cap for the front hubs come to mind. Those parts should be fairly easy to reproduce at a much reduced price compared to the factory parts.

A little competition is usually good for the consumer. If URO is constantly improving their products and can provide a good quality alternative to pricey factory parts, I say let the consumer decide what to buy - at least they have a choice.

Eventually URO will have it together, and it will probably be the go-to place for Porsche parts because in China everyone is there now (Bosch, Ate, Brembo, Volvo (owned), Mahle, Mann and the rest) because they have to, and there will be a sharing of knowledge and people will change jobs and go to different factories (when things loosen up a little over there). Metallurgy will get better. I can only hope the rubber gets better, because after having it stink (literally) for 20 years (First time I went to China was 20 years ago), they are still using the industrial sludge to make rubber pieces.

It will get better. I know it takes time. But I've been burned by URO on some serious life-saving items on the 911 (master cylinder, motor mounts) that were complete and total rubbish and wasted so much time.
