Weltmeister Sway bar mount install question

Hi guys – just looking for install advice. I bought the bolt-on rear sway bar kit from Weltmeister (WM) (due to a cracked mount on my 87 - Yellow in pic), but have a couple of installation questions that I thought I’d cheat and post here just in case someone could help. I can call them but have to wait until after the Labor Day holiday.
The instructions are straight forward, but don’t answer my questions. If I am over-analyzing, just let me know.

1. Mounting location – Is there a preferred location on the TB tube, like so many inches from the end (or a not-to-exceed distance)? No need to relo harnesses and lines, right?

2. Clamp?- In pics of some other WM setups, I see folks used a hose clamp(!) on the bar and next to the new bushing mount, presumably to prevent lateral movement(?) Is this needed?

3. Torque recommendation – The U-bolt/shackle nut is a flanged eccentric with schnorr-like ridges. The bushing clamp uses Nylocs. They’re both 3/8’s, one is a fine thread. They just say to tighten them and re-check after 500 miles. Just take’em snug and a half turn maybe?

4. Stock bushing – the stock mount has a large recess on its face to accommodate the bushing profile. The WM mount does not have this groove. Should I look for bushings that are flat on one side or are stock ones ok – does it matter? (red in pic)

5. Existing mounts – should I remove the bushing clamps & hardware?

So far the job has been easy except for the size of the tectyl undercoating stalactites that were on top of the drivers side torsion bar tube. Moving the U-bolt easily was a beyotch.

Many thanks! (and happy labor day to the folks here in the states)

I put mine as far outboard as I could. Since my fuel pump was in the way, they are slightly inboard. I made both the same distance. While not optimum, they seem to work ok.

To tighten, I used my usual rule: make them snug and give a ughhh to tighten them a bit more.

Thanks for the feedback Harry. That's good to know on the distance, and I can definitely do 'snug and an ughhh'!

I was going to ask the same thing, but I think he's going to use the TB setup instead. If it was me, bring it down to a shop, weld up the mount(s) and bypass the TB setup if you can.

I just cannot immagine, that the WM TB bracket is a delete solution for the OEM mount as the WM TB will allways kinda be able to spinn on the tube, it just may come loose?
Correct me if I'm wrong.

No it won't rotate.
Existing mount is still there and most forces are lateral or in torsion.
I may weld solid mounts in the future, never say never.

I will probably use the front sway bushing type (911-343-881-00 vs 477-411-313M) the form factor is better suited.

I ran the TB setup for years and it never moved one bit. Also, when went to weld on mounts I didn't notice a darn thing handling wise. Granted, I'm no race car driver, but back in the day I did my fair share of Auto-xing and mountain driving.
