Early 911: Euro vs US

I’ve searched around quite a bit but haven’t found any definitive answers for how to tell a euro car from a US car. Do any of the serial numbers indicate US vs Euro cars like later Porsches?

If not, what are some ways I can tell if the car I’m looking at is a US version or a euro version?

I was referring to early 911s, years 65-73. The specific year I’m looking at is a 69 911E.

Back in the day and it still holds true today is almost every one put "euro" lights and lenses on, but some euro hallmarks are that they didn't come with the front bumperettes and the seat belts had a "white" stripe down the middle of 'em.

Sounds like there wasn’t much difference between the two. Is there a difference in the value between the 2?

Also, someone claim on another forum that euro models of these early cars didn’t have seatbelts. From what you say, it sounds like that isn’t true.

Though '73 the differences between US and RoW were only wrt to safety and lighting.

Unfortunately documentation prior to '70 is tough to come by.

In '69 the headlights were certainly different

Jan 1 1968 was the first day that US seatbelts were mandated, UK was the same but in Germany Jan 1 1970 was the initial day.

What about gauges? The car I’m looking at has the speedometer in miles, but the temp looks to be in C and the oil pressure is labeled “druck”. I’ve seen other oil pressure gauges labeled as “press”.

Speedos usually got changed out to MPH after they crossed the pond.
