Do I need winter tires?

I hate to reinforce some of the myths that surround Canada, but is this the beginning of Armageddon? WTF?

I know proximity to the Rockies sort of comes with its own weather weirdness, but it's just two days into October and I've had almost 14" of snow over the last 24 hours and expecting another 4-8" overnight. The fall is often my favourite season, but this one is like the end of days or something.

I had to do some work in the garage which required the 911 to be outside for a few days. And then this. Ay caramba...

When I was winterizing the camper on the weekend I thought about putting the snows on the daily drivers. Now it is tough to get to the garage. Will measure again when I go out to shovel the overnight accumulation but last night I measured 15" of snow.

Calgary. We can and have gotten snow in every month of the year at some point in time.

You folks in Calgary do get variety. You'll probably get a chinook soon and everything will melt in an hour

that sucks... I hate it when mother nature decides to just skip a season and go straight to the next one.

Get a set of cookie cutters on the cheap and some studded(if you can in CA) Nokian tyres.

Those of you that put your 911 away for the winter are missing out....big time.
