Question Price of an SC motor?

I am looking to sell my 81 SC motor in the near future for a 3.2 swap. I need to know what a fair asking price is. The motor has 225,000 miles on it and as far as I know it has not had a rebuild. It runs well but goes through 1 quart of oil every 500 miles - it also has two leaks. One minor leak from the crankchaft pulley seal and one moderate leak from the oil cooler area. It will come with all the fuel injection stuff and has the upgraded tensioners and pop off valve. What is the market price for a motor like this?
Thanks for the help.

with 225,000 miles on it and the leakage/burning, I would say it falls into the catagory of a "core motor" . . .~$1500-2000.

I'd say Souks estimate was more than fair. Hopefully by 225K it's had at least one top end rebuild and the bottom end is looking pretty tired. What are the oil pressure readings?

I don't know if I would pay that much for a core motor, then spend $5K-$7k more rebuilding it.

The oil pressure reads about 120 psi at full throttle and about 20 psi at idle with 20W50 synthetic oil at 180 degrees. I am the third owner and the PO, who was about 75 yrs old, could not recall if it had a top end rebuild but did recall spending $5000 for a service at about 135K. When I got the PPI done at 223 K the mechanic told me that the car runs strong and he suspects that it has had a top end rebuild but there is no way of knowing for sure.

If I may chime in here I'd like to ask why the rebuild prices are so high for 911 motors. I have looked at a couple of rebuild kit prices for the parts and I dont come up over 3500 dollars, keeping in mind of course that I would be doing all my own labor except for machine work I.E. valve guides and seat grinding etc... But I still come up on the low end of 4k for a pretty thorough rebuild. Am I missing something that brings the end figure up past the 5k mark?

School me please...thanks!

Varies greatly, I think $70-100/hr is common.

120 lbs. of oil pressure is pretty darned impressive since that motor is supposed to top out at 4 bar, (58lbs.).

At least according to the guage, right?
