my weekend puzzle/ what's this piece called and where can I get one?

I have assumed a restoratin project that was dropped. so I have a shell of an early 911 that had been keyed badly, then disassembled for hopes of full restoration.

so now I have boxes of parts w/ many duplicates and new items etc. so I need to make sure I've got all the engine stuff before I got tightening things down. using my 68 911 as my guide

I was able to get most of it assembled (nothing bolted down yet)

the only things it looks like I am missing are, the coil, a few of the spark wires and this crazy piece of engine metal that goes to the right of the fan (traced in green in the pic below) I've got 3 of piece for the left side

so what's it called and where can I get one. I'm only about an hour from parts heaven, but I've called a few times to check prices and.... well it was cheaper for me to buy that whole silver 911 that it was to buy just a few used parts. but I'm thinking of driving the silver one for a while and NOT parting it out.

the project: http://www.schusterphoto.com/70911.htm

I was getting pretty intimidated by all the electrical wiring I was finding in the boxes. but I had one of my bmw tech friends over to help install an egnine yesterday and turns out he worked at a porsche dealership back in the 70's. my head was spinning as he quickly deciphered all the tangled mess and had it in place in a matter of minutes (WHEW that made me feel better)

we did get that bmw engine in, should get it started next sunday

The piece you're missing is the right side duct that runs from the fan housing to a hose that connects to the heat exchanger. It's actually a pretty common part around, since quite a few people need that part to "backdate" their heating systems. I'm sure Parts Heaven would have one.

Wow, you've got some cool projects, I'd love one of those pieces from the left side. The right side is, I believe, 911 106 036 00, "cover plate," and seems to be valid through '74. There's also the "closing plate," 911 106 827 00, and the "hot air socket," 911 106 327 00.

I'll see if I can get a picture.

Hmm, if you go back to <'69 then it is only one part, 901 106 036 01.

hmm...

I do have what looks like the #5 part in the first diagram. I have the original engine from that 68 on the floor, so it might be associated w/ it.

that 68 has an engine from a 70 in it. I see it has that part #6 from diagram 2.... so maybe I can just removed that piece from the silver 68 and put that the earlier style? but that early pice does not seem to be be metal, but a plastic.
