x-faktory - 73 911 w/2.7RS-ish engine

One of the projects I'm currently working on is Nathan Merz's 73 911. A very nice 73.5 911 with 2.7 CIS engine.....well, the CIS engine has now been updated to a 2.7 RS mod engine with 40mm PMO ITBs, Nickies with 9.5:1 JEs, Mod-S cams, early exhaust. etc.

Fired up the engine for the 1st time today....just plugged in one of my start up files
(m'squirt ECU) and fired it up......ran pretty nice for the run-in phase....Pretty effing sweeeeet!!!

next step is installing it back in the 73.

regards,
al

Curse you Al! This is like offering free heroin to addicts!

I'll have one of your systems on my car in awhile.

I can’t wait to start driving the beast! Working with Al has been a ton of fun so far. Like many of you I watched these builds right here and decided why not! While he has been working on the motor the interior has been getting a redo and we are adding some exterior fun and general cleanup of this mostly original paint Tangerine 73.5. Here is car before we started:

The slope is not slippery; in fact it is entirely frictionless.

Ooooo, I'd love to do EFI on the 356 and the /6 engine. Maybe I should work harder or pay the lotto to afford it

Any package deal economies of scale or group buys, haha.

Not smelling like fuel with the added benefit of more power and mpg is always a good thing.

slight return

After running in the engine on the test stand, I installed a new set of Clewett's wires ....fired it up again to warm it up and did a leak-down test. All cylinders were 3-4%. Not too shabby. Engine and M'squirt getting installed as we speak with tuning/road testing next week.....stay tuned for more progress pix.

T'day +1

While the rest of you were getting fat on T'day leftovers (me too...i had T'day dinner over again for lunch today.) I was moving the engine off of the stand and into the 73......still lots of clean up and wiring mods to do, but should have the engine installed on Monday and fired up by Wednesday or so.

stay tuned,

al

Al. What would you estimate the hp and torque output to be? I have a similar engine but with Weber 40s and E cams, which I've never had on a dyno so looking for an approximation of what I can expect.
