Handy has nothing to do with it. I've shown a 6 year old how to jump a car. To make this thread actually useful for people, why don't you post a photo of your battery and actually show how you are able to attach a jumper clamp to the (+) post that is buried under the fender.
My premise, with photo proof, is that it's IMPOSSIBLE to fit jumper clamps under the fender. The hypothesis is that battery post configurations have flipped on some models of batteries (See post #2 for photos)
So far, not one person has shown that it is possible to attach a jumper clamp to the (+). Walker has validated this by offering his vice grip trick. (That trick exists for a reason, think)
Let's see some posts that are a little more useful than "It's easy peasy". Great, show us then. You have a $500 camera in your pocket. Here is a golden opportunity to learn to use it !!

Shug,

Option 1: Buy a different battery with + terminal on the other side. This is the orientation of my Optima Yellow Top.

Option 2: Most battery minders have a quick connection. You just attach to + and - terminals. Plug in and charge.

Option 3: Remove battery from car. Charge. Reinstall.

Why all the ranting?

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy car parts which is kind of the same thing.

Tim, thanks, but I don't need solutions,
I already trickled charged my battery (in situ) before even starting this thread.

Why the ranting? See section 2 of post #36.

I don't understand where you're going with all this and why simple issues turn into insult-inducing tirades with you.

If you're standing outside and it starts to rain, you can stand there and get wet, go inside or get an umbrella. Pretty straightforward.

Get a different battery if it bothers you that much.
