Going price for 7 and 9" Fuchs

If somebody is using Ebay prices as a guide for fuchs, maybe there not as high as you think!

That price is very, very good for the buyer.

I was watching that auction. I was tempted to bid but I already have too many wheels lying around. For some reason I thought the 9's seem chromed. I only say that because the finish on them is so much more mirror-like than the 7's. Obviously the way to find out for sure would be to shoot the guy an email.

Anyway, yes. That is a great price for the polished lip and paddle 7/9 combo. They look great in the pictures. Pictures don't always tell the whole story though.

A nice set of 7's and 8's closed last week without a single bid and has been relisted again:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2407031929&category=33748

Just goes to show how desirable the 9's are.

yep, sad to say that I paid more for my 8 x 16 944 turbo wheels and 9 x 16's

Oh well. They are all in excellent shape.

KTL, the reason there wasn't a single bid on those 7s and 8s is because the idiot has the starting bid set at $1,500. That's just plain stupid. He might eventually get a buyer, but it's gonna be a while before someone that stupid has access to a computer.

A couple years ago, I bought 2 sets for $1400 a set. They weren't as spiffy-looking as those, however

"but it's gonna be a while before someone that stupid has access to a computer"............... LOL

I agree Mark. Starting at $1500 is crazy. Especially since they're wheels that are used/not refinished. Flip those babies over and i'll bet they're far from near perfect (which is what $1500 would demand in my opinion).

But I bet if those were 7's and 9's instead of 8's, there would have been a bidder. Guess I should have made that clearer.

Thanks,

Just try and find a pair of the 951 8's - pre 1986 offset in decent condition. I had quotes from $1200 to $2000 - for TWO!

You might being a set for sale soon if I can't get my 951 8 by 16's to fit without rubbing. I paid $900 for the set fully finished from Ernie's about 4 months ago. Have they jumped up?

Old Skul & KTL,

I bought them.
I have been in the market for 7&8or9 x 16 Fuchs for over a year.
actually here is the link for the ones listed last week.

Last weeks Fuchs by msroadrace

Dave at Road and Race was great to deal with. I worked a deal for them by sending a few emails and phone calls. I closed the deals and had the wheels in 3 days. They were polished by the well renowned AL Reed within the last 2 weeks and were not put on a car. These wheels are perfect. Got them today. He even shipped them COD so I could check them out before I wrote the check.

Did I pay too much. Probably.
But I have the wheels now. I don't have to locate mediocre ones then get them to the east coast send them back to Al Reed wait several weeks then get them mounted and balanced.
I wanted them now can afford them now and bought them now.
I will post some pics of them on the car when finished.

They are tits and I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Stupid maybe. Having tits wheels for the summer rather than the car on jackstands PRICELESS!

No offense, TigerTrash. I think the implication was that anyone paying $1,500 for 7s and 8s *alone* was probably ignorant. It sounds like in your case, the extra cash was for getting the wheels now. That's different.

Re the 8 x 16 951's - I think it was Ernie's that gave me the $1200 quote. I got mine for $800 too from a private buyer who threw in 4 polished caps and 4 sets of polished lugs...

Tiger,

The ones you bought are not the ones in my posted link. Sorry though. I thought the wheels were the same in both auctions (not polished 7's and 8's).

Polished lips makes a big difference!

You referrin' to my car bein' on jackstands???? I'll have that thing down on the ground tomorrow (with racing goggles for driving since I have no windshield)! Them's fightin' words boy!!!!!! JUST KIDDING!!!!

Glad your happy. Sorry if I offended you.

P.S. Mark said "stupid," not me. I just said it was funny.

KTL,

I think its all funny. After re-reading my post, I think I came across as pissed off. I'm not. I was just explaining that I was happy with my purchase. I didn't even know yours is up on stands.

Here they are.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Ooooooooooh!

Now that's what i'm talkin' bout. Fully refinished is certainly worth the $1500. Like you said. You're not buying wheels, paying for shipping to Al, paying for refinishing, and paying to have them shipped back. You're all set with these.

Nice!

Agreed with what KTL said; those are some fine looking wheels. I might even say they are $BLING$BLING$.

Even if you paid $1600 for them they are a bargain compared to equal quality aftermarket 17s or 18s. You get a lot of bang for your bucks with the 7 or 8 & 9 x16 Fuchs.
