catalyst removal technique

I have succesfully rounded off all the nuts that attach the cat to the cross pipe on my sick freinds 85 911 carrera. My next move is too break out the blue flame wrench and burn my way in. Is there any down side to removing the rusted catalyst bolts with a torche?

and do 3.2 carrera really require three differant gasket types?

Thanks Keith
