Suspect someone has modified the WUR to enable adjustment to FP.

What is the procedure to use such adjustment (if such a procedure exists or is relevant)? For example, “If on start up you are experiencing X, make small turns of the adjustment screw to the right until Y happens.”

The screw is for cold control fuel pressure adjustment. Repeat: CCP.
Pull it up will increase the cold control fuel pressure pressure. Screw in and the CCP will go down or decrease. Note: The electrical plug to the WUR is disconnected when doing the adjustment. Do not make unnecessary adjustment. Above from the king of WUR's : Tony Jason

Do you have a AFR gauge? If not I wouldn’t mess with it until you do. There are allot of good threads here and on the turbo forum re adjustable WURs.

Getting mixed up........

You are referring to the “Leask” adjustable 930 WUR and totally different to the non-930 WUR’s with adjustable cold control pressure. These are totally different WUR’s. You don’t use or need an AFR gauge to adjust CCP. What you were thinking was the enrichment during boost in a turbo system. They are not the same subject. Tony |

What's the part # of the WUR? Just to be sure you have the correct WUR for your year. You never know.
From time to time I help out on CIS systems locally and to my surprise I had a 74 CIS here with WUR part # 0438140001, this is first generation WUR 001 and this WUR actually has an adjustment nut on the bottom that allows you to set Warm Control Pressure! Was a pleasure working on this early CIS setup. Something like this, this is not WUR 001 but these guys accomplished the same adjustment for a Porsche 928 WUR https://928motorsports.com/parts/Images/cis_regulator/CISReg2.jpg https://928motorsports.com/parts/cisreg.php This type of adjustment would be super neat to have on our CIS 911 WURs. Having both adjustment for Warm CP and Cold CP would be fantastic.

Both 911 and 930 WUR can be made fully adjustable.
Both 911 and 930 WUR can be made with only CCP adjustable. We do this all the time for modified engines. All settings should be set with a fuel pressure gage to OEM spec first, then adjust to meet the needs of your modified engine. Unmodified engines should use OEM spec for system pressure and all control pressures. If a stock engine does not run properly at stock settings the problem is somewhere else. Typically if only CCP is made adjustable it is to mask a problem such as the WUR being worn out which usually manifests first as high CCP.

Rarley gave you what you need to get started, but Sal's pictures are interesting. I got it in my head when messing with my WUR to add both the cold and warm pressure adjustments. They both are done by moving a steel cylinder up or down in the aluminum case. Tricky to do with the warm pressure side, simple with the cold. But it looked to me that all these WURs have the warm system spring base set on a big screw, with a hex for adjustment on its bottom, just like in the pictures. With the difference that you couldn't get to the adjustment screw! The bottom chamber of the cast case prevented access. Cutting a hole in that bottom chamber so you could get an Allen in there presented its own potential problems. So I adjusted up top. but the bottom would be the better way to go if a stock system in good condition, plus the mixture screw, wouldn't give you everything you might want.

The very first generation 001 WUR simply has the ability to move the bottom of the spring up/down via a allen key. Sort of like adding shims under the spring, I'd think someone with good machine shop could easily add this feature to any base plate for these WURs?

I just found a old thread on WUR 001 it has a picture showing the bottom of the WUR and you can see the adjustment screw.
