Re Spray rear vent question
68 911. The rear vent slash grille above rear window. Does this present any issues with the roof lining when painting.
Its a full body respray. Thanks Lyndon ![]() Last edited by Lyndon302; 04-10-2019 at 12:35 AM.. |

Can you rephrase your question?
Roof Vents... https://rennlist.com/forums/911-forum/498698-vents-over-the-rear-window.html

There is a strip vent along the rear window at the top.
I'm respraying my car. I'm thinking the car will fill with spray from this vent. Or am I wrong. Really don't want to bugger this up. Lyndon |

Get some soft (low durometer) closed cell foam, cut it into strips a rectangles slightly bigger than the openings, attach a string to each one, tuck them in there, have a spray day

There should already be foam behind these vents. I had my car reshot once without removing the head liner to get at them to cover them, and didn't have the problems you are worrying about - how close were you thinking you'd have the spray gun, anyway?
The risk is preventing the foam from letting the inside air out by clogging it with paint, and you seem headed in a good direction on that. I'm not sure you'd need string - might that not get stuck on exterior paint? You could pull out paper or whatnot you got in there with hemostats or the like when done. |
