'86 3.2 Carrera rear sway bar link question
I noticed my (rearvpassenger side) sway bar link bushing is pulled out of it's cup. Replaced the link first. Got the same result with the new one. Then decided to check the sway bar. Put it on the floor, and saw it swinging a little. Replaced the sway bar. Did ~100 miles on it, and looked fine, now I see that it is again acoming out of its cup.. Pictured is before replacing the sway bar, bushing is fully out of the cup.

A picture of the problematic bushing would help. Thanks.

sure, posting from mobile did not get the pictures attached somehow.
here's also some backstory, what I've done to troubleshoot this issue. so when the car first came to me, it had the rear right (passenger) sway bar mounting plate missing torn away, ans the sway bar just hanging freely. cannot recall, what was the situation with the link itself in the very beginning. after a quick research, I decided to go with the Weltmeister sway bar kit solution, after reading this post. now, after everything was in place I noticed the link's bushing getting out of it's place. replaced the link, as I put the blame on it first, although it was fresh one. problem still persists. then decided to throw away the Weltmeister kit and weld in OEM mounting plates. everything assembles well, but noticed the bushing again out of it's place after a few drives. next thing, check the sway bar - took it down and put it on the floor. see it swinging on straight surface, so it must be bent. seems logical, hence the torn away original mounting plate in the very beginning. checked earlier today, and I already see the bushing half way out of it's place, so the problem must still be hiding somewhere.. I'm out of imagination what else could be the case, and where to continue troubleshooting. left sway bar link has no issues. left link: ![]() right link: ![]()

Those drop links should have the rubber molded/bonded to the metal...looks weird to me...

Agee. They do not look like Porsche OEM drop links.

abides.

I wonder what happened to Lemforder's quality? They used to be the preferred supplier for suspension and steering parts like this.

thank you, everybody. so after reading your comments here and in the other thread, logical next step would be to ignore the small (possible) misalignment and go with new links of a better quality.
