Super tricky problem
Been without an interior light switch for some time now on my '78 SC Targa . I traced the problem to the drivers door switch situated in the front door pillar where the hinges are. The wire had broken off the switch and to make matters worse the brown wire has pulled through the bodywork back into the wiring harness in the car!!
After two long sessions of trying to locate the wires hole I am no nearer to threading the wire back out of the body to the switch. I don't want to rip the carpet off (it seems really glued down) so visibility is limited . Anybody know the exact location of the hole or have any other brilliant ideas? |

the brown/white wire just comes off the dash loom and goes down the side panels to the switch hole. you should be able to see it with a flashlight, beside the glovebox on the right, and same place on the left. grab it and move it around so you can see it thru the switch hole with a flashlight. a piece of stiff wire with a small hook on the end can fish it out thru the switch hole.

Thanks John ...are you saying you can see the wires hole by squinting through the light switch hole in the door well with a torch? I have been trying to locate the hole from inside the car under the dash as I thought that would be easier!
