Aftermarket shifter boot Question

I just installed a new Momo Combat knob and boot. Should I just place the new leather boot over the old rubber one or take the rubber one out? I put the new one over the old one but it seems to not quite cover everything and creeps up when shifting. Thanks

The instructions that came with the leather boot I purchased a while back stated to install it over the rubber boot. Of course, I read this, AFTER i had removed the rubber boot and had slid the leather boot over the shifter. After install, it did have a tendency to creep up - like you're reporting. I have since loosened the console base and was able to pull the bottom of the leather boot further down over the rubber boot and is now held down (very tightly) by the console.
