yes. One of them studs that come out of the heads thru into cam housing.

Correct - I was at work when I posted earlier and couldn't look at my manual, but my best guess was it was for the cams. 13mm nut.

And I confirmed with the PO (who owned the car from about 2000 until I bought it in 2015) that the head studs were replaced during the engine rebuild in ca. 2005. So it's all good.
