Engine pad support

Well I have been working on the engine all winter, new seals, gaskets, upgraded tensioners, new heat exchangers, shocks ect..... Now spring is here I want to get the motor back in an drive it. The pad needed replacing but I just didn't feel up to so I got some aluminum j channel from the harware store trimmed it to length, painted it black an slid it over the top edge of the pad. It adds support all the way along and looks good. It covers the degraded edge just great and will support the pad until I get a new one. Now if the motor would go back in that easy.

good idea Paul! The edge of the pad in my 993 is starting to go already; this looks like a good project. What is the household application for the channel you bought? so I know what to ask for. Or is it just out of the bulk material bin? max

It's called 'J' channel. It comes in 10ft length for less than $5 Cdn.
You will find it in the section where they sell soffit and siding for your house. It takes two minutes to install once you have it painted.
