I'm the wrong person to ask, I don't care for all-black or black-center wheels. If the did a blue that looked good with the car for the rim centers only, I might be into that some...

I like the all black with your blue. The stance fits the wheel. Not a fan of the fuch paint scheme on those wheels. IMHO...

Hey, it is your car, do what makes you happy.
However I do have my opinion, and it is worth exactly what you paid for it. Black wheels are ugly. They look like hubcaps that fell off, and you have never washed the steel wheel under the hubcap. That is just my opinion. Yours may vary. ![]() I will admit a very slight prejudice to color matched wheels. ![]() After 24 years I am still love the look of my car.

Why do people ask such questions? Really I want to know.

I love black wheels! Porsche had many all black wheels in racing. It's a nod to that look imho. Since it's plasti-dip you can run it one way for a while and when it gets old, peel and do it the other way.

Im with ya Steve. Particularly on this board because anything not completely traditional brings mostly traditionalist out of the woodworks and is always met with more negative replies than positive helpful ones.
To the OP go with what you like best. I think they both look fine on your style of build. |

I like full black. It is a bit of an outlaw, anyways.

Am thinking all-black wheels have less energy compared to allowing the silver in the color mix. Question is do you want that sedate duo-tone look or do you prefer a touch more vibrance to the car? If you're calm & quiet type... all-black. If you're upbeat and full of energy, I say allow the silver. Through my own visual filters, that blue on those all-black wheels is deliciously nasty.

Not a fan of the all black wheel. To my eye it makes the whole wheel/tire combo look like one dirty mess. If the wheel has an all black center, then I like the bright/anodized/polished look of a rim separating the center from the tire (the SC look).
I would like to see you try Glen's approach: namely a color matched center with an anodized rim. Or, if you are doing a graphic, like a Carrera script, then matching the centers to the graphic color.

Banned but not out, yet..

All black is an overdone attempt to look racey Next week if all race cars had gun metal colored wheels, all the racey lemmings would too. If you must go for black, go with the silver outer rims. From a distance all black rims look just like space saver spares which are far cheaper but give the same effect.
Hey, I would like a set of gun metal rims!

If it's plasti-dip type paint it means you can change your mind easily.
I think orange would be nice for the car. |

Salut Therry,
I did the plasti-dip on my wheels. It looked OK all blacked out. Not great though. They started looking worse and worse to me when I started seeing plastic-dipped wheels on '90's Honda Civic all over LA. Removing the plastic-dip is a motherf'er ![]() by the way. It comes off in little pieces. It's a mess and a pain. In conclusion: I would never do it again. Your car, your call. Bonne Chance!
