My local ACE hardware carries a very nice selection of fasteners. Agreed McMaster carr has very quick delivery.

Nope, those won't work in the tail light housing application. Those cage nuts are designed for relay racks and cabinets where they clip into the smallish (a bit over a quarter inch) square holes.

Thanks. Will try local dealer first and then order if needed. Went to Fastenal and other bolt places and all closed because of July 4th - good for them of course but bad for me ;-)

This is where it's nice to have friends close by that seem to keep lots of extra parts in the garage. I have a bag with six of them sitting here, as I try to buy extra of the parts that seem to be a bit unusual or awkward to locate easily and that aren't super pricy. I'd give you a couple as as you seem to be in a hurry, but Calgary isn't exactly close to Texas...
