Soft rear targa questions

did porsche make 2 different types of rear window assays?

I just went to look a assay being sold, and it was the type where about 3/4 of the window had a zipper and it folded down but could not be removed.

but I have also seen the type where the entire window has a zipper all the way around...

I posted pic of both...

also has anyone bought the parts obsolete replacement rear window??

is it the fold down type or the fully removable type??

My soft rear targa window unzips 3/4 of the way around. After it is unzipped, it folds down behind the backs of the rear seats. It cannot be removed. I have looked at quite a few soft window targas over the years and I have never seen one equipped with a soft rear window that is totally removeable.
If you could find a replacement window that is totally removeable, that would be an improvement over the non-removeable type. Whenever my rear window is unzipped and folded down behind the backs of the rear seats, it must be protected on both sides by cotton towels to keep the window from becoming scratched. It would be a big improvement if the window was fully removeable. You could then fold it up and tuck it away in the trunk out of harms way. If you find a good supplier of a completely removeable rear window, please post the info on this site. I would upgrade mine to that type the next time I need to replace the rear window. Good luck!
