![]() ![]() FREE to anyone who can use this odd-ball test instrument, even for just the high quality "US Gauge" Gauges. Just pay postage costs. Len ![]() Don't know where to ask this question, but this Forum gets the most attention, so will try here. Mr Moderator, bump this out if not appropriate. I found this in my stash of little used tools & testers in the corner of my shop when I moved recently. What is this Pressure Tester for.........?? ![]() ![]() It has a needle valve to make very fine adjustments of pressure, but for what? Inquiring minds want to know. My first thought was a home built leak down gauge. But looking at the two gauges, I'm thinking it is a brake fluid pressure tester. Though I don't know why two gauges, why the adjustable valve between the two, and what is going on with that thing which looks like an end cap, but looks to have holes of its own. Are those holes threaded?
Something to do with A/C? |

![]() ![]() That was my thought at first as well. The Hose is wire reinforced with Hi-Pressure hydraulic type fittings and the left gauge goes up to 2000 psi, while the right only up to 100 psi. The Rt fitting has holes as if it were a bleed off vent of some sort. Thank you for your input Walt. Baffles me. Len ![]() |

I'll take a wild-ass guess. Power steering tester. But some fittings are missing. Max pump pressure is in the 1500psi range when the valve is closed. With the valve open, the pressure is less than 100 psi unless there's a restriction somewhere.
The ones that I've personally used are a little different and have a flow meter too, and have an inlet and outlet hose. You read the low pressure gauge to see the low pressure, then close the valve and read the max output, along with the fluid flow. |

If you take off the pressure relief valve and install a screw-down shraeder valve coupler , and fit a dry-break or shraeder at the end of the hose and change to 100psig to a 300psig , you have a cheap damper reservoir filler ...
