Salvador Dali Grille Badge Poll
This 1960's limited cast bronze Salvador Dali Pirelli belt buckle was turned into a grille badge by the previous owner. I just bought it. Is it for the car or to be stuck in the office with the other collection? It's 4"x2.5", similar to other badge sizes.
Ok, this poll is just for fun. I've already made up my mind...

Leave that on the car and it might disappear. Nice!

Evidently Dali had a thing for Pirelli. This photo is of a part of his garden behind his summer house in Spain.
Don't put that badge on your car, because somebody will try to pry it off.

Dali was a good friend of Pirelli himself and an avid fan of Pirelli Motorsports. He was a frequent celebrity at Formula One and other races. I think it makes a great grill badge. I'm slapping it on there with some quick release fasteners. If the car sits out someplace, I'll pull it off.

Holy crap, I actually thought your Dali badge was really cool (one of my college majors was fine art, I think this thing is badass) so out of curiosity I wondered if I could get one of my own off the evil bay... And they're listed for $500 -$1100 each!
I don't think anyone on the street will know its worth anything, so i wouldnt worry bout someone coming after it because they knew it was valuable, but be careful with it nonetheless! SUPER COOL |

I think you gentlemen have missed the mark. That item will be stolen based on lust and not money. I mean, whoa - that piece of art works on a whole 'nother level!

I'd be leery of the solder loosening.

I would make a mould of it and cast it in plastic resin. Paint it to match.
Easily done with some bronze paint from an art shop. Put the fake on the car. And store the real one in a safe place at home.

Mount it on the car. Here's my take on somewhat rare items, use it!!
If you don't use it, someday someone will. I'd rather it be me since its in my possessions. Tomorrow doesn't belong to you...

I'll leave it on the car rain or shine until it starts to turn green (the literal definition of "patina"). Then it'll compliment the Viper Green car!

To the best of my knowledge, the late Barry Williams was first to do it. I put one on about a year ago in his honor... and, because it's just plain cool.
