World's Coolest Slot-car track - LeMans Scale Replica...
This exists at a hidden location near my house. Everything was custom built by hand, in replication of the buildings and terrain surrounding LeMans. I'll post more photos next time I'm over there. Just as an FYI, this cost more to build than I paid for the 959...

Excellent!
What scale is it (looks like 1/32) and what track system was used?

Amazing what modlers can build.
Imho over detailed tracks can start to look too Doll House. The Hand built brass chassis raced on these tracks are works of art too. ![]() My somewhat detailed track last year. ![]() In stark contrast my current track is just for racing. ![]() |

Cool tracks! I have a 25 foot long 1/32nd scale track of Spa in my crawl space (not as pretty though).

Mike, I would love to race on your King track!
![]() I've run on several CA tracks including Rohnert Park, Buena Park, Eddies in Vallejo. Still have 3 wing cars, including a Grp 7!

unusual to see a plastic track system in such a detailed setup.
i'd have to see the receipts to believe the cost claim.

Ah I love slotcars. I made a trip to see the purple mile one time - it was near Atlanta at the time - I think there is only one? But my luck the shop was closed that day. I used to race 15 and 27 back when I lived near a track (Carson City) - still have my cars going back to the Cox days. I don't think there is a track within a 100 miles of me now so I work on my P-car to take away the pain

RandyW... would love to see a picture of your SPA layout. Arguably, the greatest track ever... One of my goals in life is to build a scale replica Spa for karts.

Wayne - You're kidding right? That track cost MORE than your 959? So we are talking well over $100,000 for a slot track....GULP?
I can definitely appreciate the time, attention to detail and the dedication but getting hung up on the cost. Yasin

Where's the crossovers??? For $100,000 you shouldn't get screwed on distance.
I get the inside track......home court advantage????

Ah... Tony P's track. Yes, he did spend a small fortune building a real Petit Le Mans and bless him for it
Remember the ol Revell Raceways ? Chain of converted old markets where Revell built several tracks, sold parts and cars. We had the fortune of racing at MESAC= Miniature Electric Scale Auto Club located in a building near the Forum/ Hollywood Park in Inglewood. A bunch of head honchos that were working for Aurora, Revell, Cox, and Ruskit got together, with friends, and built an awesome multi version track. Flip a section and it changed configurations. You had to take a line (forced of course by the slot position) going into the turns so had to consider real side by side racing. Adjustable night lighting, p.a. system, 1/2 voltage pits (switched blades in the track would shuttle you into the pit area when ordered to ) made for a pretty realistic series of races. I wish i had taken pics of all that set up. We had 1/32 and 1/24 scale racing series, enduros, concours- the works! My brother and I had a stable of 917's and RSR's. They ran a Trans Am in 1/32, IMSA and Le Mans cars in 1/24. Kurt Oblinger (posts here) was our chief painter- he always got the details right As a private club, it wasn't long before the interest started to wane (real cars were starting to take all our money to play with) and the club closed up. The track may still exist in someone's large garage.
