1979 911 sc with MSD with Start Issue

Hello,

I have a 1979 911 sc with a MSD setup and never has an issue to start the engine for years. I drove it a week ago and after, left the car outside under the porch for about a week. It's pretty hot here(Texas) . This morning I went to start the car. it would crank(with optima battery), but would not start. I crank it a few times, but nothing, would just not start. I can smell the fuel. I even checked/tested the injectors one by one and fuel is coming out.

How to diagnose this?
The battery is fully charged.

Thank you

Sounds like you have fuel, though could be to much (you never know).

I would look at electrical/spark next. Do you have a friend who can help? Pull a plug, see what condition, and then watch for the spark while cranking.

Spark check time... maybe the MSD quit working.
Check the distributor green wire too.

Ive had an msd drop dead out of nowhere. It was quite old when it failed but it was pretty much as you describe. Out for a drive and no trouble, couple days later it would not start at all.

My MSD suffered a catastrophic death last weekend 30 miles from home with zero warning. Would crank fine but no spark. Very rude.
