Good Morning Latin,
Change the filter! I like Mahle filters and keep a couple in inventory. Don't get hung up on oil brands, unless (as 76 says) you like reading 'on and on and on and on...' I like Shell Oils and sometimes Castrol. Why? I don't know. I like Dinosaur based oils and that's what people use around here. Other's may say those are the 'worst oils ever.' And others will insist on synthetics. Maybe they're right. Maybe not. Life is too short to argue about oil brands. Any reputable oil that meets your car's specifications will be fine.

Avoid rotating the engine backwards. The internals don't like that. Some people have ruined a 911 engine when they spin at an autocross, and don't get the clutch in fast enough, the engine is rotated backwards buy rolling backwards in a forward gear.
Going backwards a little is no major deal, but don't go very far backwards.

Good morning
Sorry about the dumb question on the oil filter... it's been quite some time since I've changed it and when I saw it was the K&N I though they could be cleaned like the air filters... my bad. I have always used the Castrol (as recommended by the Porsche mechanic that worked on the car for the prior owner) but I'll try Mobil 1 based on what I read... only time will tell. Once I replace the oil and filter (waiting on that order) I'll see how it runs and then check the injectors. Thanks sincerely to everyone... Best R |
